A Terrorist was killed and two security personnel were also injured in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of militants at Wanigam Bala in Kreeri area of the district, a police official said.
He said that during this time the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which the security personnel retaliated and the encounter started.
Efforts are on to identify the terrorist killed in the encounter and to find out to which terrorist group he belonged, the official said.
Earlier on Wednesday also, security forces had an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists were surrounded by security forces in Yaripura of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. According to the information, security forces had gone out on patrol on the morning of July 27 in Barihard Kathpura area of Yaripura.
During this, he got information about 2 to 3 terrorists hiding in the area. Security forces cordoned off the area, after which the terrorists started firing.
The security forces started responding to them and thus the encounter started. A security forces personnel was injured in this encounter and the terrorists managed to escape from the spot.
