The Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced a new alternative academic calendar for the upper primary classes, Class 6 to Class 8, to continue the teaching-learning method during COVID-19.
The calendar is formulated by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, (NCERT).
The newly published calendar contains comprehensive guidelines for teachers on the use of technology and social media tools.
HRD Minister, in his tweet, mentioned, “Alternative Academic Calendar for upper primary stage (Classes VI to VIII) for four weeks was released earlier. I have launched the academic calendar for the next eight weeks today.”
HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the calendar contains “detailed guidelines” to achieve the “best possible learning outcomes” while students are at home.
The new academic calendar proposes school education at home, these services are available on phone, radio, social media, television, and SMS. The students, who do not have an internet connection can receive the academic course via SMS.
