Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has a three-decade long filmography with over 120 films to his credit. But it’s fascinating to recall the instance when Salman was cast in his debut film because a director was so irate that they decided to hire the next guy who walked in. Salman revealed in an interview how he got his first acting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi. He declared, “JK Bihari approached many actors, but they all turned him down. I recall that he worked out of a garage. He had met a few actors, but nothing could be resolved. He said, “I’ll sign up the next idiot that walks in,” out of fury, “Ab koi bhi next idiot ayega, main usko sign kar dunga.” The actor then admitted that he believed Biwi Ho To Aisi to be his first and final film. Salman claimed that he contacted Sooraj Barjatya and asked him not to cast him in Maine Pyar Kiya since Tarachand Barjatya, Sooraj’s father, was spending a lot of money on the production. After watching Biwi Ho To Aisi during the showing, Sooraj told Salman he was confident in using him in Maine Pyar Kiya because the movie was like a screen test. |
