Toyota Urban SUV: Toyota has recently revealed the concept of its future Small EV SUV, the Toyota Urban SUV. The upcoming electric model is based on the Maruti eVX EV SUV. It is expected that both these models will make their global debut in production form at the end of this year. Check out more details of the small EV below.
Will Offer Similar Features as Maruti eVX
As it is a sister model of the Maruti eVX EV SUV, it will offer similar features as the Maruti eVX. Along with the platform, the Toyota Urban SUV will also resemble with Maruti eVX in terms of mechanical setup and design elements.
The Japanese automaker has also announced that other specs details of the vehicle will be announced in early 2024. As it has only given the details of the dimensions of the Urban SUV. Urban SUV has a length of 4300mm, 1820mm Width and 1620mm height which makes it quite similar to the Maruti eVX which also comes with the same length, but gets 20mm shorter length and width. Toyota Urban Small electric SUV is also expected to get plush interiors along with creature comfort and a host of safety features.
Toyota Urban SUV: Platform
The Urban SUV will be based on the 27PL skateboard platform which will be locally manufactured in India at the Gujarat facility of Maruti Suzuki. The same facility will be also responsible for exporting the platform. The company has made a target of making over 1.25 lakh vehicles in a single year.
Toyota Urban SUV: Powertrain
However, the automaker has not released any details about the powertrain of the upcoming small EV, but we expect that it will arrive with two range options including a top-end model which will offer over 400 km of range. The brand has made it public that the Urban SUV will come with dual-motor AWD and FWD options.
