Traffic Rules: The Delhi Transport Department is increasing the cost of PUC Certificates. There’s a chance that paying for a PUC certificate for a pollution check in Delhi now may cost you twice as much as it did previously. Everyone must obtain a PUC certificate regardless of whether they drive a personal vehicle, a bicycle, or a commercial vehicle that runs on petrol, diesel, or compressed natural gas. Currently, in Delhi, failure to provide a pollution certificate results in a challan deduction of Rs 10,000.
What is PUC?
PUC stands for pollution under control, and this certificate indicates whether the level of pollution in your car is under control or not. An important document is the PUC certificate. If you don’t keep it with you while operating the vehicle, trouble may result. Your Rs 10,000 challan may potentially be taken away by the police.
Validity of a PUC certificate
In Delhi, BS-6 vehicles must go through a pollution test once a year and BS-4 vehicles once every six months. This certificate’s issuance is intended to ensure that there won’t be any pollution above the permitted limits.
