Engine details
The identical 159.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine with an oil cooler and a five-speed transmission powers the 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. With three industry-first riding modes for 2022, Rain, Urban, and Sport, TVS has redesigned its engine. The engine generates 14.73Nm and 17.55PS while it is in the Sport mode. Compared to its predecessor, it has 0.08 PS less power. The numbers drop to 15.64PS and 14.14Nm in Urban and Rain settings to make handling easier. In order to improve the Apache RTR 165 RP, TVS increased the bore, changed the valves, and increased the compression ratio. The result is that the 164.9cc engine produces 19.2PS and 14.2Nm, which is 1.5PS more power than the normal model.
The torque has decreased by 0.5Nm, though. Together with the slipper clutch, the RP model has an additional safety feature for heavy downshifts. The double-cradle split chassis of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is connected to a Showa-tuned rear mono-shock and telescopic front fork. With a 130-section rear radial tyre for the disc type and 90-section front and rear tyres for the drum variant, it runs on 17-inch alloy wheels. Braking is handled by a front petal disc measuring 270mm, a rear drum brake measuring 130mm, and a rear petal disc measuring 200mm with single-channel ABS.
Features
The headlight and tail lighting on the 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is entirely made of LEDs, while the indicators are still bulbs. The top-end disc and Special Edition editions come equipped with a completely digital, multifunctional instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The “Glide Through Traffic” (GTT) function, which is effectively a low-speed assist to help the bike glide through traffic without having to use the clutch hard, is another cool feature. It makes it much easier to crawl through traffic. In addition, the RP variant has a new 240mm rear brake, while the other variants are equipped with a 200mm brake.

The cost of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ranges from Rs. 1.23 lakh to Rs. 1.45 lakh. There are five different versions of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V: the Front Disc, Rear Drum, Front and Rear Disc, Front and Rear Disc With SmartXonnect, Special Edition, and the top-of-the-line Apache RTR 160 4V RTR 165 RP, which costs Rs. 1.45 lakh.
