TVS iQube: Following the drop in FAME II EV subsidy rates that took effect on Thursday, TVS Motor Company announced an increase in the pricing of its electric vehicles. The company is the most recent to make electric two-wheelers. The price increase for its electric scooter iQube was announced in a statement by the firm on Thursday. According to TVS Motor, depending on the model the consumer decides to purchase, the price of the e-scooter would increase from Rs 17,000 to Rs 22,000 in the near future. EV producers have already disclosed new prices for their electric models in response to the FAME II subsidy drop, including Ola Electric and Mater.

TVS iQube Price hike
This is the second time in recent weeks that the cost of the iQube electric scooter has gone up. The most recent price rise was enforced in May by TVS, which raised the cost of each version by Rs 9,000. Due to the drastic reduction in EV benefits under the FAME II scheme, the most recent price increase is high. The increase in prices of the TVS iQube with effect from June 1, 2023, following the FAME II revision, will be in the range of Rs 17,000 to Rs 22,000, depending on the variant, stated Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President, Electric Vehicles, TVS Motor Company.
Customers who reserved the iQube electric scooter earlier this month are eligible for rewards from TVS Motor. According to the two-wheeler manufacturer, clients who pre-book an electric scooter before May 20 will receive extra loyalty perks.

A hub-mounted, 3kW motor that produces 4.4kW of peak power powers the TVS iQube. The top speed of the regular and S models, according to TVS, is 78 kmph, while the top speed of the ST is allegedly 82 kmph. All variations are said to go from zero to 40 km per hour in 4.2 seconds. Two riding modes—Eco and Power—are available on the iQube. On the base and S trims, a 3.04kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the motor; however, the ST is anticipated to come equipped with a larger 4.56kWh battery pack. Ranges of 100 km (Eco mode) and 75 km (Power mode) are promised for the regular and S models. However, the ST model is advertised to have a real-world range of 110 km (Power) and 145 km (Eco). Standard and S variants have 650W chargers that take 4.5 hours to fully charge, but the ST model has two charger options: 950W or 1.5kW, which take slightly more than 4 hours or 2.5 hours to fully charge, respectively.
