Two-wheeler sales in India in the month of May
Ola
Ola Electric, the nation’s top producer of two-wheeled electric vehicles, has had a successful month of May. Over 35,000 units were sold by the corporation this month. During this time, the business controlled 30% of the market for electric scooters. Additionally, the business saw a 300% increase in growth year over year.
Hero Motocorp
The largest two-wheeler producer in the nation, Hero MotoCorp, reported on Friday that its wholesale sales for May 2023 climbed by 7% year over year to 5,19,474 units. 4,86,704 units were sold by the company during the same time last year. 5,08,309 domestic units were sold last month, up from 4,66,466 units in May 2022. However, exports decreased to 11,165 units in the reviewed period from 20,238 units a year earlier.
Honda
In May 2023, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) reported a 6.6 percent year-over-year fall in total sales to 3,29,393 units. According to a statement from HMSI, the company sold 3,52,893 units in May 2022. Honda motorcycle domestic sales decreased by 3% last month to 3,11,144 units from 3,20,857 units during the same time last year.
