UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to start mining engineering courses at the graduation level in state engineering colleges. UP’s Mining Department and Technical Education Department will start this course in collaboration with each other. The Chief Minister announced this on Thursday, when he was presenting an action plan of the Mining Department. He said that in the coming six months, mineral mapping of major rivers of Bundelkhand and Purvanchal will be done with the help of technical body. The government will include the new mining areas in the district survey report by conducting mineral mapping.
The Chief Minister has asked for setting up of 24×7 call centers at the level of Directorate of Mining, under which complaints of illegal mining and transportation can be registered. Along with this, he has ordered the formation of an enforcement cell by deploying police personnel on necessary posts in the mining administration. At the same time, it has also been asked to encourage the transportation of minerals with the help of railways.
He said that the Geology and Mining Department has done commendable work in the last several years. Efforts have also been made to stop illegal mining and its transportation with maximum use of technology. At the same time, he said that there is a need to increase it further.
