These SUVs promise to offer a range of features and specifications that cater to the needs of Indian consumers. Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated midsize SUVs that are set to launch in the Indian market soon.
Honda Elevate: A Premium Midsize SUV
Honda Cars India has confirmed the launch of its latest midsize SUV, the Honda Elevate. This five-seater SUV is built on the same platform as the fifth-generation City and is expected to have an overall length of around 4.3 meters. The Honda Elevate will be heavily influenced by global Honda SUVs like CR-V and WR-V, in terms of design. Its interior is expected to be more upmarket than the City. The car will feature a 1.5L NA four-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the City, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The equipment list is likely to boast a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric sunroof, digital instrument console, ADAS, etc. The Honda Elevate is set to offer a premium experience to Indian SUV buyers.
Tata Harrier and Safari Facelifts: A New 1.5L Turbocharged Petrol Engine
Tata Motors is expected to launch the facelifted versions of the Tata Harrier and Safari this festive season. The Harrier EV concept, which was revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo, will have a big influence on these SUVs. Both SUVs are expected to offer an expanded range courtesy of an all-new 1.5L turbocharged DI petrol engine. With the new engine, Tata Motors is looking to cater to the growing demand for petrol-powered SUVs in India.
Citroen C3 Aircross: A New Contender in the Midsize SUV Segment
Citroen has unveiled the C3 Aircross in India and is expected to launch it later this year. The SUV will be sold in both five- and seven-seater configurations. The car is powered by a familiar 1.2L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 110 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission only. The C3 Aircross is based on the same CMP platform as the C3 hatchback and promises to offer a unique driving experience to Indian SUV buyers.
Kia Seltos Facelift: A Redesigned Exterior and Feature-packed Interior
The Kia Seltos is set to receive a facelift, which is expected to go on sale in the middle of this year or in the third quarter. The new Seltos will have a thoroughly redesigned exterior and a more feature-packed interior. The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine capable of 160 bhp and 253 Nm will join the lineup, providing a much-needed boost to the car’s performance. The Kia Seltos has been a popular midsize SUV in India, and the facelift promises to make it even more appealing to Indian buyers.
