Uttar Pradesh beats all other states in automobile sales for Q1 2023, All details about the SIAM data here

Uttar Pradesh: In order to provide insight into the performance of states and union territories (UTs) in India’s car market, the Society of Indian Car Manufacturers (SIAM) on Monday released the most recent data on vehicle sales for the period of April to June 2023.

Uttar Pradesh beats all other states

The research states that Uttar Pradesh took the lead in the sales race, with a noticeable 10% increase in passenger vehicle sales and a significant 17% increase in two-wheeler sales. Additionally, there was a significant development in the three-wheeler and commercial vehicle markets, which each had remarkable growth of 10% and 13%.

Sales in Detail

A closer examination of the breakdowns reveals that while Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu were closely behind Uttar Pradesh in terms of total vehicle sales, Maharashtra came out on top in terms of passenger car sales, accounting for 12% of all sales in Q1. Uttar Pradesh had the highest overall vehicle sales. Gujarat and Karnataka were tied at 8%, while UP came in second with 10%. Likewise, at 7 each, Tamil Nadu and Haryana were tied.

Maharashtra led the list for commercial vehicles with 12%, followed by UP with 10%, and Tamil Nadu close after with 9%. Gujarat and Karnataka tied for fourth with 7% apiece.

With a staggering 17% of all two-wheeler sales in Q1, Uttar Pradesh led the way, followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with 8% and 7%, respectively. It also shows why Hero MotoCorp’s management and UP’s importance to entry-level motorcycles are due to this. Karnataka and Bihar both received 7% of the vote.

The top state for three-wheelers was once again Uttar Pradesh, with 12%, followed by Gujarat and Maharashtra, each with 10%. Following with 7% each were Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
