In the latest report published by the National Crime Records Bureau, Uttarakhand Police has got the first place in the country in terms of recovery of stolen property and goods.
State Director General of Police Ashok Kumar said that the State Police has achieved this success by the use of modern technology in cases of theft. Giving credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that it is the result of policing done under his ‘vision of smart police’.
He said that the State Police took legal action against the accused after analyzing the incidents thoroughly and also made special efforts for the recovery of the property, due to which the recovery rate of the State Police is highest in the country.
In the bureau’s 2021 report, the recovery of stolen property by Uttarakhand Police stood at 68.7 per cent, which is more than double the national average of 30.2 per cent for all other states. In recovery of property and goods, Uttarakhand Police is followed by Tamil Nadu with 64.8 percent and Himachal Pradesh third with 55 percent.
Director General of Police Uttarakhand Ashok Kumar said that this success has been achieved by the state police due to maximum use of modern technology in cases of theft. The recovery rate of the state police is the highest in the country due to the special efforts made by the Uttarakhand Police to investigate the theft incidents in depth and take legal action against the accused. He said that this is the result of policing done under the Prime Minister’s vision of Smart Police.
