Volkswagen and Skoda to launch 8 cars in India next year
Volkswagen
- Major updates to the Volkswagen Taigun are overdue and could take the shape of a minor facelift in 2024. The new T-Cross, which is closely connected to the Taigun marketed in India, was unveiled by Volkswagen earlier this year on a global scale. With far more design, functionality, and safety, it has the same powertrain options.
- The Volkswagen Virtus may receive a model-year upgrade that brings additional features, enhanced safety, special editions, and probably some small visual tweaks.
- With the ID.4 GTX, Volkswagen may also join the EV market in India. With two battery pack options—52 kWh and 77 kWh—and both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, this sportier-looking electric SUV is available worldwide. The ID.4 can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 36 minutes and is said to have a range of up to 510 km.
Skoda
- In order to maintain some degree of novelty, the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, which went on sale in India in 2021 and 2022, respectively, will receive small modifications. Minor adjustments to the interior of both Skoda vehicles are possible in exchange for significant alterations to the list of features. There will probably be a price increase for this small model year change.
- In 2024, Skoda intends to introduce the Enyaq iV into the Indian EV market. We anticipate seeing this EV here as a CBU (fully built-up unit), having been observed testing on Indian roads. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available, and the battery pack options are 52, 58, and 77 kWh. It is said to have a range of up to 510 km.
- Earlier this year, the Skoda Superb was pulled from Indian retail locations; there has been no news on when it will return. Nevertheless, Skoda just introduced the fourth-generation Superb to the world, and it might eventually arrive in India.
- In addition, Skoda introduced the new Kodiaq alongside the new Superb. Both a significant interior redesign and small exterior design adjustments were included. The redesigned SUV may still be introduced here in small quantities, much like the Superb.
