Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that North India can expect to see a rise in temperature after enduring a prolonged winter. Despite this, the region will not receive any rainfall in the coming week, as stated in an IMD statement on Thursday, February 2nd. Furthermore, the air quality in Delhi is expected to improve as well. The Western Disturbance is currently impacting the Himalayan region, which may result in light rain and snowfall in the area, specifically in Jammu and Kashmir, over the next 48 hours.
However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted that Southern India, including Tamil Nadu, will experience heavy rainfall until Friday. A spell of heavy rainfall is expected to impact South Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the next 24 hours, related to a depression over Sri Lanka, as per the IMD.
Delhi
The national capital will now witness a surge in the temperature as the coldwave has finally abated. The sky will be clear today and no clouds/rains are predicted. For today, the maximum temperature will be 24 degrees and minimum will be 11 degrees.
Mumbai
IMD has predicted that today will mostly be clear in the city and it suburbs. Though, similar trend in weather is anticipated for Mumbai. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and minimum will be 22 degrees.
Chennai
Rains are predicted to lash Tamil Nadu and its impact will be seen in Chennai as well. The sky will remain partly cloudy for today. The maximum temperature will be 30 degrees and minimum will be 24 degrees.
Kolkata
Kolkata will witness lower temperatures than previous days. Though, the day will be sunny and bright. For today, the maximum temperature will be 28 degrees and minimum will be 16 degrees.
