WhatsApp: Following the August beta release, Mark Zuckerberg has now revealed a new feature for WhatsApp that lets users have two accounts on a single smartphone.
You won’t have to carry two phones or log out frequently thanks to this upgrade, which makes it easier to manage your personal and business accounts. Read on to learn more.
WhatsApp: Two accounts in one app
Users who need to navigate between multiple accounts, including their personal and professional profiles, will find the new capability useful, according to Meta. This feature simplifies the messaging experience for users by eliminating the need to log out and back in whenever they switch accounts, carry two phones, or worry about sending messages from the wrong location.
How to use this feature?
You need a different SIM card or phone number in order to use this feature.
- Go into WhatsApp Settings.
- Choose the “Add Account” option by tapping the small arrow next to your name.
- Enter your second phone number and make sure it works by calling or sending an SMS.
- By touching the arrow beside your name and choosing the account you wish to use, you can now swap between your accounts.
Availability
In the upcoming weeks and months, Android users will be able to use the Multiple Accounts feature on WhatsApp. The availability of this feature for iOS devices is still unknown, though.
