Will Renault launch it’s Next-Gen Duster in India in 2023? All we know so far

Renault: According to rumours, Renault India will introduce the new generation Duster in 2024–2025 as a result of an investment of up to $500 million USD that will enable the company to grow its local lineup. The Kwid, Triber, Kicks, and Kiger are already available from the French manufacturer’s local range, and the CMF-B platform, which includes a significant amount of local content, will soon be available.

Renault is also anticipated to introduce a seven-seater SUV based on the Bigster concept in addition to the brand-new Duster. In the distant future, an electric car might be created thanks to the adaptable architecture. Nissan, a member of the alliance with Renault, will produce its own variants of the future SUV lineup as part of their ongoing aim to achieve economies of scale.

Renault Duster

The Nissan Terrano was born from the Duster moniker, which gave Renault a more upscale brand image. Along with the Hyundai Creta, it can be credited with popularising the midsize SUV market as one of the early entrants. This time around, the new-generation Duster will compete against a number of rivals, including the MG Astor, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The production facility in Tamil Nadu might be used as a production hub because the CMF-B architecture will be retooled for India and emerging markets. The potential powertrain choices for the forthcoming Duster are as of yet unknown. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder NA petrol engine and the same engine’s turbocharged variant are used in the current lineup of inexpensive automobiles.

Renault stopped making the Duster in February 2022 after selling it for over ten years. Only a few changes were granted for India, despite the five-seater receiving its second generation globally in 2017 under the Dacia name. Before the arrival of the brand-new Duster, the corporation is anticipated to introduce models based on CBU throughout the course of the following year or so.

Nissan to launch a similar car

In contrast, Nissan debuted its most recent X-Trail, Juke, and Qashqai in India last month. The first one will likely debut by the middle of next year, and road testing for the X-Trail full-size seven-seater SUV has already started.
