Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday gave instructions to the officials in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in the National Capital Region (NCR). He said in the order that in such a situation, more vigilance should be taken regarding the health safety of school students and awareness should be spread among the people about the Covid protocol. He emphasized that we have to be vigilant about the health security of children. At the same time, students and teachers in schools will have to be made aware about the Covid protocol.
The last few days, cases of Covid-19 have increased in many states. Its effect is also being seen in many districts of NCR. In the last 24 hours, about 103 new cases of Covid have been reported in Gautam Budh Nagar district and 33 in Ghaziabad.
According to the order of the Chief Minister, it will be mandatory to apply masks in all the public places of many districts of NCR and capital Lucknow. He said that people will also be made aware to follow the Covid protocol. With this, people who have not been vaccinated so far in Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat and Lucknow will be identified and vaccinated against Covid.
The Chief Minister said that the results of the Covid vaccination campaign are satisfactory, but the campaign of Covid vaccination of children will have to be completed at the earliest.
An official said that in Uttar Pradesh, 100 percent people above the age of 18 years have received at least one dose of Covid vaccine, while more than 86.69 percent people have received both doses. At the same time, about 94.26 percent children of 15 to 17 years have been given the first dose, while children of 12 to 14 years will now be given the second dose after the first dose.
