7 lakh candidates expected to take primary TET today: Officials

For the selection in state government primary schools, about 7 lakh aspirants are expected to sit the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), whose notification was issued on October 14.

For the candidates’ travel to their various examination centres, Kolkata Metro and the department of transportation authority have made special arrangements. Additionally, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has put elaborate security measures in place to ensure a successful exam and avoid question paper leaks.

6.9 lakh candidates will appear in the exam, which will begin at noon and end at 2:30 pm, according to WBBPE President Goutam Paul. In order to ensure transparency, there will be two sets of OMR sheets. At the conclusion of the exam, the board will collect the original copy, while the candidates will receive the second copy.

Helpline number for candidates

The board has also provided the candidates with a helpline number. The home, transport, and health departments, as well as the local government, municipal corporation, etc., are all ready for the exam tomorrow.

Although the exam starting at 12 p.m., the examination centres will be open to applicants at 9 a.m., and entry will be permitted until 11 a.m., according to board officials.

According to officials, no candidate will be permitted to enter the testing center without an admit card. Additionally, candidates will not be permitted to bring any technological items such as watches, scales, sunglasses, headphones, mobile phones, or water bottles.
