Air Pollution in Delhi NCR: The poor air quality led officials to close schools in the NCR region. Classes Nursery to 8th have been directed to shift to the online mode with immediate effect. It has a direct impact on the health of many, resulting in several health issues not just in children but adults as well. Keeping this in mind, the officials of the NCR have taken this decision. All schools in Noida and Greater Noida were asked to hold classes online for students for classes Nursery to 8th till Tuesday. The decision comes in the wake of the rising pollution levels in the NCR region.
Dharmveer Singh, Gautam Budh Nagar’s District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), on behalf of the DM, Gautam Budh Nagar, issued an order that the schools have been told to hold the classes online for students of Classes Nursery to 8th. The order further states that, if possible, classes 9th to 12th should also shift to the online mode. It also states that outdoor activities like sports fest or meetings should also remained suspended till further orders.

The Air quality index reached severe levels in Noida and Greater Noida on Thursday. Vehicular traffic, stubble burning, and the fast approaching winters are some of the reasons for the rising pollution levels in the Delhi NCR region. According to many reports, stubble burning causes pollution in different areas of NCR. The city has around 1,800 schools including higher education centres, spread across Noida and Greater Noida.
