Allahabad University is going to give a big relief to the students who have lost their parents in the corona pandemic. Allahabad University has announced that it will not charge any academic fee from students who have lost both their parents to Covid. Along with this, the university will also waive 50 percent of the hostel fee for the academic session 2021-22. The decision to waive the total educational fee and 50 percent of the educational fee has been taken keeping in mind the situation of Covid. This concession will be applicable to all the students of the university and its affiliated colleges. However, an official statement said that this provision will not be applicable for students who have lost single parent.
A statement from the university said, “As we know, from March 2020 onwards, COVID-19 spread rapidly in the country and the virus was so deadly that many students of Allahabad University and its colleges lost their parents.”
The university said, “Keeping in view the pathetic plight of such students, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor has waived 50 per cent of the total academic fee and hostel fee for the academic session 2021-22 in respect of those students. of Allahabad University and its constituent colleges who have lost both parents due to corona virus.”
Meanwhile, Allahabad University has stopped online classes for the students of undergraduate and postgraduate classes. Regular offline classes for undergraduate students have started from February 14 and for PG students from February 9. However, researchers have been allowed to work in offline mode as before.
