Apart from Hindi and English, the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) would be conducting examinations in 13 regional languages, according to news agency PTI.
According to a official announcement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a historic step by encouraging the use of regional languages and increasing the number of local youngsters enlisting in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
The CAPFs are the National Security Guard (NSG), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

“In a landmark decision under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, (the) Ministry of Home Affairs has approved conducting constable (general duty) examination for CAPFs in 13 regional languages, in addition to Hindi and English,” it said.
“As a result of my letter to Hon @AmitShah, the Union Govt has announced that it would conduct the CAPF exams in all state languages. I wholeheartedly welcome this decision & reiterate our demand to provide Question Papers in Tamil & other state languages in all Union Govt exams,” he wrote on Twitter.
In addition to Hindi and English, the exam question paper will be translated into 13 regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri, and Konkani.
This development came just days after Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu DM Stalin recommended the inclusion of Tamil as a language for the written exam in the CRPF recruitment process. Stalin noted in his letter that the CRPF written exam announcement only specified that the test may be taken in Hindi and English.
MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, expressed his happiness and thanked the administration for its historic choice.
