CBSE Takes Disciplinary Action Against Students Over Alleged Submission of Fake Certificates

According to an official notification from the CBSE, certain female and private category students, categorized as Children with Special Needs (CWSN), were granted provisional permission to sit for the exams. However, one of the prerequisites for exam eligibility was the submission of a domicile certificate confirming the candidate’s residency in Delhi.

The CBSE notification states, “The following Female and/or CWSN Private Category candidates were allowed to appear provisionally in the Board Examinations-2024… based on orders of the Hon’ble High Court, Delhi.”

Upon examination, it was found that the domicile certificates provided by these students were not genuine and had not been issued by the relevant authorities.

Consequently, the results of these candidates were withheld on May 13, 2024

“The concerned issuing authorities have confirmed that the domicile certificates submitted by the aforementioned candidates were not issued by them. Consequently, the results of these candidates were withheld on May 13, 2024, and categorized under Result Later (RL) as per Rule 60 of the CBSE Examination Bye-Laws,” the notification elaborated.

The list of affected students has been published on the CBSE website, and each student has been served with a show cause notice. They have until May 21, 2024, to furnish an explanation as to why their candidature should not be revoked due to the submission of fraudulent certificates.

In an official statement, the CBSE emphasized, “All candidates are directed to submit their reply in the concerned Regional Office with all supporting documents within 7 days… failing which their candidature will be cancelled.”

This action underscores the CBSE’s dedication to upholding the integrity of the examination process and ensuring fairness and transparency. The board has reiterated its firm stance against any attempts to manipulate or fabricate documents.
