What an exhilarating experience it was to witness the 2nd Art Olympiart 2024, hosted by the Indian Watercolour Society at the Delhi Metropolitan Education College in Noida! The festival, led by the dynamic duo of Mr. Amit Kapoor and Ms. Megha Kapoor, featured an astonishing exhibition of 650 stunning watercolour paintings. Under the enthusiastic patronage of Mr. Aman Sahni, Vice-Chairman of DME College, this event transformed the DME campus into a vibrant hub of creativity from December 6th to 8th 2024.
Opening ceremony as graced by eminent personalities form the world of Art Mr. Ram V. Sutar, Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned Indian sculptor and Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chairman, NDMC and Mr. Bheem Malhotra, Chairman, Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh. A particularly touching moment was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. David Taylor from Australia, recognizing his phenomenal contributions to the art world. Venue Partner DME Collage was represented by Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Kant Swami, Director and Head Dr Poorva Ranjan. One of the highlights was the live-demo by master artists such as Atanur Dogan [Canada], Joe Dowden [England], Nader Mohazabnia [Iran], Antonio Bartolo [Portugal], Isabel Moreno [Spain], Igli Arapi [Italy], Tere Lojero [Mexico], Lilian Vitral [Brazil], Vladimir Zarutskii [Russia], Paul Cliven [Belgium], Surindr [Thailand], Lizaveta [Kazakhstan], who brought their unique styles to life. The interactive workshops allowed participants to dive into the world of watercolour, learning techniques and sharing ideas.
The Olympiart, recognized as the world’s largest watercolour festival, showcased the incredible talents of artists from 60 countries, uniting them in a spectacular celebration of art. Moreover, the on-the-spot competition ignited a thrilling atmosphere, pushing artists to showcase their skills in real-time! The exclusive art material expo featuring Sitaram Stationers and Camlin added an exciting dimension, providing artists with the tools they need to create their masterpieces. The 2nd Olympiart was not just an event; it was a powerful testament to the transformative power of art in building cultural bridges and nurturing global artistic exchange.
