Dehradun News: Beginning today, or September 18, admission to Doon’s non-government PG colleges will be based on merit. The Central University Entrance Test (CUET) was previously the basis for student admission to colleges. Numerous pupils haven’t even taken the CUET test. In such a scenario, 50% of college seats remained unfilled. Student organisations are protesting this and calling on the government to exempt them from CUET. Following this, the students from CUET have received relief from Garhwal University.

MKP PG College Adopts Merit-Based Admission for Female Students, CUET Optional
Students will be admitted without using CUET. Prof. Sarita Kumar, the principal of MKP PG College, stated that the admission of female students to the college will begin on the basis of merit. Girls can register for classes at CUET and mkpcollege.in on the college website. In this case, there are two possibilities. Female students who have taken the CUET exam can apply through CUET. Students who did not show up for the CUET may choose merit. According to Dr. Sunil Aggarwal, president of the Association of Self Finance Institute, UGC has not yet made a judgement regarding CUET relief. However, in response to a request from the college administration and student organisations, the university has published a circular. Only merit will be used to determine admission.
