Delhi: The Delhi Government on Wednesday released guidelines on school readiness for the current summers in response to forecasts of impending heat waves in the national capital. According to a directive from the Delhi government, all schools in Delhi that are recognised by the directorate of education must make sure that there isn’t a student assembly during the afternoon shift.
Students should be offered water breaks
“The health of the children and adolescents attending schools suffers during the summer when the daytime temperature in Delhi exceeds 40 degrees Celsius. Heat-related illnesses have become more common in NCR as a result of the rising temperatures, it claimed. “All public schools recognised by the Directorate of Education must make sure that kids have access to drinking water inside the buildings. During class periods, students should be offered water breaks, according to an official circular.
Schools must educate children about the importance of covering their heads during the day
In a circular, the Directorate of Education stated that schools must educate children about the importance of covering their heads during the day. “Sensitize students to cover their heads when entering or leaving the school during direct exposure to sunlight (use an umbrella, hat, cap, towel, and other traditional head gears)” The Directorate further stated that if any student suffers from a heat-related ailment, schools would need to contact a nearby hospital or medical facility.
