Haryana News: The results of the ongoing recruiting procedure in Haryana will not be released by the Election Commission (EC) unless the state’s assembly elections are over. This decision followed a complaint filed by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, who claimed that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) had been broken during the hiring process for a number of positions, including 5,600 open Constable positions in the Haryana Police, 76 TGT and PTI positions by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), and other positions by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).
Complaint and Commission’s Response
The Election Commission noted the issue and asked the State Government to provide a comprehensive report. Following a careful investigation, the Commission concluded that the MCC was not broken by the HSSC and HPSC’s continuous hiring practices. As per the MCC guidelines, which permit statutory authorities to carry on with their operations during the election period, the EC discovered that the recruitment process had started prior to the announcement of the election dates.
EC’s Directive to Maintain Fairness
The Election Commission has chosen to postpone the release of the recruitment results even though there was no MCC violation discovered. This action is meant to keep things even during the election and stop any party from gaining an unfair advantage. The outcomes of these recruitments by the relevant bodies (HSSC & HPSC) would be kept confidential till the Haryana Assembly elections are over, following the EC’s mandate.
