Education News: In a bid to promote Indian Languages in schools, CBSE has requested all the affiliated schools to teach Indian languages in classes at least till class 5th. The statement has been issued by the CBSE on completing three years of national education policy 2020. The CBSE has urged the schools to promote cultural understanding and academic success.
Students must learn all Regional languages in Schools
The National Education Policy has pushed for multilingualism among students and for young learners, especially when children are at a young age and they are exposed to multiple languages. The policy pitches for the Mother Tongue, local language and Regional language as the medium of instruction atleast until grade 5 but prefers to extend till class 8. CBSE has encouraged the affiliated schools to promote NCERT books which are being available in 22 Indian languages.
‘ I Congratulate CBSE for this move‘
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan also appreciated CBSE’s move. He says, I congratulate the CBSE for providing the option of education in Indian languages from Kinder garden to class 12 in all the schools. As per the vision of NEP, it will promote Indian language based education in schools. This is a good start towards better outcome in education.
