The Tamil Nadu government has decided to reopen schools for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th standards with effect from September 1 with 50% attendance. School authorities are said to ensure strict adherence to the SOPs issued by the Office of Director of Public Health.

Schools should have proper cleaning and sanitation facilities including availability of key supplies like thermometers , disinfectants, and soaps.
At least 6 ft distance should be maintained between students.
Physical distance should be maintained between staff workers.
Schools should ensure social distancing at the entry and exit points of the school.

Signage enforcing social distancing and safety protocol must be displayed.
Schools should nor organise such events where physical distancing is not possible.
Schools should sanitize parents, teachers, community members, and hostel staff on Covid-19 related challenges and their roles.
