Karnataka to be the first state to issue an order regarding the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020,State Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan claimed.On Saturday,the state government issued an order on the implementation of NEP 2020 from the current academic year, 2021-2022.
CN Ashwath Narayan said that with that the state has become the first in the nation to issue the order with regard to implementation of National Education Policy – 2020.
He also said that the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 will be done as per the guidelines of the NEP. National Education Policy was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on 29 July 2020.It outlines the vision of India’s new education system.
This new policy has replaced the previous 34 years old National Education Policy on Education, 1986.The new policy aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society by making both school and collge education flexible,multidisciplinary and suited to 21st century.
Along with the state education minister,Kumar Nayak,Additional chief secretary to higher education,Thimmegowda vice-chairman Karnataka higher education council, and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
