Himachal Government: The Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday announced jobs to ‘Agniveer’ after a four-year stint in the armed forces, according to a press note issued by the government.
Agneepath Scheme
The Government of India has implemented an attractive recruitment scheme for the youth to serve in the Armed Forces. This scheme is called Agnipath scheme and the youth selected under this scheme will be called Agniveer. The Agneepath scheme allows patriotism-motivated youth to serve in the armed forces for a period of four years.
Cabinet Meeting
This decision for recruitment was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. However, the government did not specify the positions where the young ex-servicemen would be accommodated.
Free and Fair conduct
When asked, Thakur’s press secretary Rajesh said, “The outline will be finalized soon.” Meanwhile, to ensure free and fair conduct of recruitments in government jobs, the cabinet decided to bring the examinations conducted by Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission under the Preview of Prevention of University, Board or Other Specified Examinations Act, 1984 in Himachal Pradesh.

It has also approved amendments to the Himachal Pradesh Widow Remarriage Rules, 2013, giving a grant of Rs 65,000 to the couple instead of the existing Rs 50,000, the press note said.
