In Himachal Pradesh, a decision was taken in the cabinet to open schools for the students of class 10th, 11th and 12th. Schools will be opened for these classes from August 2. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. Schools will have to follow the SOP made to prevent corona infection.
The cabinet has also given permission to open coaching, tuition and training institutes from July 26. These institutions will have to follow the Corona SOP. Students of class 5th and 8th can come to schools for counseling from August 2. Attendance will not be mandatory for them. Online studies will continue. Research scholars will be allowed to come to the university for research. The schedule for this will be issued by the university administration.
Cabinet approved to fill up 100 posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT) in Himachal Pradesh Secretariat. These posts will be filled through direct recruitment. In the meeting, it was also decided to create a new sub-tehsil in Kalbog of Kotkhai tehsil of Shimla district.
It was also decided to open a fire post at Tikkar in Jubbal-Kotkhai area of Shimla district.The cabinet also gave its consent to convert Women Industrial Training Institute Bharari Bilaspur into Co-educational Industrial Training Institute and convert both the trades into Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Fitter posts of Surveyor and Office Assistant cum Computer Operator.
Significantly, Haryana has opened schools for the students of class IX to XII in the past. The Madhya Pradesh government has announced to open the schools of class 11th and 12th from July 26. Class 12 schools have opened in Gujarat from July 15. Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have also decided to open schools. The Himachal Pradesh government has also taken a decision on the same lines.
