QS Rankings 2024: Ten Indian institutions were listed among the top 500 in the most recent QS rankings. IIT, Bombay, which has reached this position for the first time, stands at the top of this list at rank 149. IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, and Madras have all dropped in the QS Ranking for 2024. IIT Roorkee hasn’t improved or declined, but IIT Guwahati has climbed 20 positions. This institution still holds the 369th place.
Delhi University and Anna University’s Remarkable Jump
Delhi University and Anna University, which were over 500 the previous time, have improved their jumps to place within 500. You may see below which Indian institution ranked where this year compared to last year.
- IIT Bombay has got National Rank 1 this year. This year it has got 149 position in QS ranking. Whereas, last year its rank was 172nd.
- IIT Delhi is at the second position in the National Rank. It is ranked 197th in QS Ranking 2024. Whereas last time it was at 174th position.
- IISc Bangalore is at the third position in the national ranking. This institute has suffered a loss in ranking. This year it is at 225th position which was 155th last year.
- IIT Kharagpur is at National Rank 4. It has got 271st rank in QS Rankings 2024. Last year it was at 270th position.
- IIT Kanpur is at National Rank 5 which was QS Rank 264 last year. This year it has got 278th position in the ranking.
- IIT Madras has got National Rank 6. At the same time, its rank has also decreased in QS. This time it has got 285th position which was 250th last year.
- IIT Guwahati is at national rank seven. It has benefited in QS ranking. This year it has got 364th rank which was 384 last year.
- IIT Roorkee has got National Rank Eight. It is at its last year’s rank only. It has got 369th rank.
- Delhi University has made it to the top 500 this year. It has been placed between 407 to 521 in the QS ranking. Last year it got 530th rank.
- Anna University has also managed to make it to the top 500 of QS Ranking. It has been placed in the category 427 to 551. Last year it got 560th rank.

- MIT, the prestigious institution of America, has managed to remain at the top for the 12th consecutive time.
- The National University of Singapore is the first university to make it to the top 10.
- India is the seventh country in the world, from where maximum 45 universities participated in it.
- IIT Bombay has secured the highest score in the QS World Ranking, it has been ranked 149th.
- IIT Bombay has achieved this rank by improving itself in terms of research and employability.
- University of Delhi and Anna University have secured place within 500 for the first time.
