IIT Kanpur: The Institute said in a press release that the Rapid Soil Testing Equipment Earth Tester invented by IIT Kanpur which came out last year has been launched as a product in the market. The device, developed by a team led by Prof. Jayant Kumar Singh, Department of Chemical Engineering and others, has been licensed to Agronext Services, an agritech company.
Within a short span, the product is now ready for use by the general public. It was launched in the market on May 26, 2022 at an event in the auditorium of IIT Kanpur’s Startup Innovation and Incubation Center (SIIC) in Noida,” the press release said.

Director, IIT Kanpur, Professor Abhay Karandikar said, “Our primary objective is to provide relief to our farmers in terms of testing their soil health. It is a task which is usually very difficult for them as they have to depend on laboratories away from their homes.”
We are proud to share that now that the device has been launched as a product, it will be a great boon for our farmers in reducing the hassle of testing their soil.
