NIRF Rankings 2023: The Ministry of Education has issued this year’s rankings of educational institutions using the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and Foreign Affairs, has made the NIRF ranking public. IIT Madras has so earned the top spot this year. IIT Delhi is in third place, followed by IISc Bangalore in second. This list of top universities and institutions has been made public in addition to engineering, medicine, dentistry, and MBA programmes. The rankings for a total of 12 categories have been made public. Here is a list.
These are the top institutes
- IIT, Madras
- Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
- IIT, Delhi
- IIT Bombay
- IIT, Kanpur
- AIIMS, New Delhi
- IIT, Kharagpur
- IIT, Roorkee
- IIT, Guwahati
- JNU, New Delhi
These are the top three universities this time
- Indian Institute of Science
- JNU
- Jamia Millia Islamia
The list of medical colleges did not change
This time, the NIRF rating for medical colleges has not altered. The same people that finished in the top three last time likewise did so this time.

- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- Christian Medical College, Vellore
These are the top universities of agriculture
- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi
- National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal
- Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana
- Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
- Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore
