National Education Day 2022: India observes National Education Day on November 11 each year. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first minister of education, is honoured today. The anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s birth marks National Education Day. Azad was fully aware of the value of a quality education for the growth of the nation after independence. In such a setting, he made numerous significant efforts to introduce a modern educational system to the nation. The best job he did in the realm of education is recognised today on National Education Day.
The Central Government declared November 11, the anniversary of Abul Kalam Azad’s birth, to be National Education Day on September 11, 2008. Since that time, all educational institutions observe National Education Day on November 11th.

Abul Kalam Azad’s contribution
The Ministry of Education founded the nation’s first IIT institute in 1951, and Azad served as its administrator. The University Grants Commission (UGC) was established in 1953 as a result. He thought that in the future, these institutions will play a significant role in India’s higher education system. During his presidency, the Secondary Education Commission and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) were both founded. He made a big contribution to the country’s renowned Jamia Millia Islamia University as well.
All schools and universities offer a variety of events on November 11 every year. On this day, educators and students exchange opinions on the value of education and other educational topics. It is organised to hold a variety of lectures and workshops. Competitions for writing essays, speeches, and posters are held in many different schools.

National Education Day 2022 theme:
The Ministry of Education decides the National Education Day theme each year. Changing Course, Transforming Education is the theme for this year. This theme highlights how drastically the educational system must alter in order to meet existing and future needs.
