National Education Day 2024: Today, on November 11, India observes National Education Day, honoring Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the country’s first Education Minister. This day signifies the important role of education in shaping India’s future. With a large youthful population, India relies on education to build a stronger and more progressive nation. On this day, we reflect on advancements made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, from establishing new IITs and IIMs to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, marked a major shift in India’s education landscape. Approved by the Union Cabinet on July 29, 2020, this policy equips students with skills for the 21st century. Aiming to make learning more inclusive and adaptable, the NEP addresses India’s evolving educational needs. By focusing on holistic development, flexibility, and quality, it aims to foster an environment where every student can succeed.

New IITs Established Under Modi Government

To expand access to premier engineering education, the Modi government established several new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across India:

These new IITs aim to increase accessibility to top-notch engineering education and bring advanced technical training closer to more communities.

New IIMs Established Under Modi Government

Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are known for excellence in management education. Under the Modi administration, several new IIM campuses were added:

These new IIMs broaden the scope of management education, nurturing future business leaders from various regions.

New AIIMS Established Under Modi Government

Recognising the need for accessible healthcare education, the Modi government has established multiple All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) across India. Under PM Modi’s administration, 22 new AIIMS were sanctioned, with 18 now operational. These institutions play a crucial role in training healthcare professionals, reducing the shortage of medical experts, and improving healthcare access nationwide.

Celebrating India’s Educational Progress

National Education Day 2024 is a time to celebrate India’s strides in education under PM Modi’s leadership.
