NCERT has made a big change in class 10 books. Under this, the periodic table, democracy and sources of energy chapters have been removed from the book. That is, students of class 10th will no longer be able to read these chapters of NCERT. Officials said that this decision has been taken to reduce the burden on the students.
Earlier this year, there was a lot of controversy after the removal of the chapter on the theory of development from the 10th standard syllabus. In the new textbooks released by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the removal of three chapters including the Periodic Table has come to the fore.
Changes in science and social science book
Topics dropped from the science textbook also include chapters on environmental sustainability and sources of energy.
Entire chapters on democracy, challenges to democracy and political parties have also been removed from the Class 10 Social Science book after the latest revision.
NCERT issued a statement
NCERT says that it was imperative to reduce the burden on students in the light of the coronavirus pandemic. Considering the difficulty level, it was decided to drop these chapters from the syllabus.
However, in class 11th and 12th, if students opt for chemistry, they will have to study the periodic table.
