NEET 2024 Scandal Unveiled! Leaked Question Paper Matches Real Exam, Mastermind and Detained Candidate Confess to Irregularity

NEET 2024: Anurag Yadav, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) applicant who was detained due to discrepancies in the results, acknowledged that the question paper he was given, which was leaked, was identical to the real one.

Access to Leaked NEET Question Paper and Answers

Yadav, 22, the nephew of an engineer working at the Danapur Town Council (Danapur Nagar Parishad) in Bihar, confessed in a letter that was obtained exclusively by India Today that his relative Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu had informed him that all the preparations for the exam had been completed. Yadav added that he received access to the NEET exam‘s leaked question paper and answers.

The student stated in the letter that when he took the test and was given the real question paper, it matched the one his uncle had given. Yadav’s signature was included on the confessional letter. This occurs just hours after Yadavendu’s confessional note and other documents were obtained by India Today, exposing the purported involvement of a “Mantri Ji” who allegedly suggested that Yadav, his mother, and other conspirators stay at a Patna government house.

Union Education Ministry’s Response to NEET Exam Anomalies

According to authorities who spoke to news agency PTI, the Union Education Ministry requested a report from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police on Wednesday over purported anomalies in the way the NEET exam was administered in Patna.

There have been claims of anomalies in the esteemed exam, including question paper leaks in areas like Bihar. Protests in multiple locations and the filing of petitions in multiple high courts, including the Supreme Court, have resulted from the charges. “Regarding certain irregularities alleged in the conduct of the examination in Patna, a detailed report has been sought from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police. The government will take further action on receipt of this report,” a senior official of the ministry said.

Government’s Commitment to Exam Integrity and Student Protection

“The government is committed to ensuring the sanctity of examinations and protecting the interests of students. It is reiterated that any individual or organisation found involved in this matter will face the strictest action,” the official added. Meanwhile, The NEET paper leak case mastermind, Amit Anand, is rumored to have admitted that the question paper was leaked the day before the test. Additionally, he disclosed the cost at which he once “sold” the exam papers.

Methods Used to Memorize Questions Before NEET Exam

In his admission, he details how the day before the test, the students were forced to commit the questions to memory. The students were charged lakhs of rupees instead of questions. Nationwide demonstrations are taking place in response to the purported NEET question paper leak. Additionally, there is a need for a reexamination and cancellation of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2024. In the NEET paper leak case, 13 people have been taken into custody thus far. Among the people arrested was Sikandar, a junior engineer from the Danapur Municipality.

Timing of NEET Paper Leak

In his admission, Amit Anand stated that the paper was leaked the day before the NEET was conducted. On the same day, the candidates received the question paper and answers. They have one night to commit the answers to memory. The question paper had a rate of Rs 30-32 lakh.

In his confession, the mastermind behind the paper leak said that the police had discovered the NEET question paper and answer sheet from his apartment burned to ashes. In addition, he acknowledged that he had previously leaked exam questions.

Filing of Case Against Amit Anand at Shastrinagar Police Station, Patna

At the Shastrinagar police station in Patna, Bihar, a case has been filed against Amit Anand. During questioning, he allegedly “confessed” to his misdeeds. Amit has admitted that he is from the Munger area of Bihar. He did, however, formerly reside in a rented apartment in Patna’s AG Colony. He revealed in this confession how he used to get together with students who would pay for the exam paper.

“I went to meet Junior Engineer Sikandar at the Danapur Municipal Corporation office for some personal work… I told Sikandar that I can leak the paper of any competitive exam and help candidates pass it.  Sikandar then told me that he had 4-5 candidates who are preparing for NEET and asked me to help them pass the exam,” Amit Anand’s confession read. “I told him that it would cost Rs 30-32 lakh. Sikandar agreed and said that he will give me 4 candidates,” he further said. On May 4, the night before the NEET, Amit Anand claimed to have instructed Sikander to bring the applicants to him.
