The SG said that ‘medical courses are time bound. If any changes are made at this stage, it will be much longer than that. We are worried about the counseling of NEET. ‘
It is worth noting that the Central Government has approved to give 27 percent OBC and 10 percent Economic Weaker Section (EWS) reservation in medical admission. For giving EWS reservation, the family income limit has been fixed at Rs 8 lakh per annum. The Supreme Court had asked the Center to reconsider this decision. After which a panel of three members deliberated on it.
The Center said that ‘As per the suggestion of the panel, the limit of 8 lakh is appropriate and we would not like to reduce it.’
