The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) will now take place on August 11 in two shifts, the National Test Agency (NTA) has stated in a recent notification. This choice is the result of several controversies surrounding the examination.
NEET PG New Exam Date and Eligibility
Initially planned for June 23, the NEET PG 2024 exam was postponed due to concerns about the integrity of various competitive exams. The Health Ministry decided to delay the exam to ensure fairness and transparency. According to the NTA, the cut-off date for eligibility remains August 15, 2024, allowing candidates ample time to meet the criteria.
Allegations and Government Response
The postponement followed allegations of discrepancies in competitive exams, leading to widespread criticism. In response, the Centre replaced NTA Director General Subodh Singh and initiated an investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
Comprehensive Investigation by CBI
To ensure a transparent and thorough examination process, the Ministry of Education has handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This move aims to maintain the sanctity of the exams and protect students’ interests. The government has assured strict action against any individuals or organizations found involved in these irregularities.
Commitment to Fair Examinations
The government is steadfast in its commitment to transparent and fair examinations. An official declaration made clear that anyone found guilty of any misconduct will suffer dire penalties. This action demonstrates the government’s commitment to maintaining the validity of educational evaluations in India.
