NEET Results 2024: On June 4, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 results were made public. This competitive exam is required for admission to undergraduate medical programs. According to the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) first-released results, 6-7 applicants who received full scores were from the same exam center, and 67 students received 720 (full) marks. Concerns concerning the NEET outcome have been brought up frequently since this happened.
IMA Questions NTA’s Role in NEET 2024 Results
The National Testing Agency (NTA)’s involvement in the results of this admission exam has been questioned by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in addition to the individuals who took the NEET exam. The IMA has clarified in a letter “What action did the NTA take on this matter, given that the country was aware that the NEET exam paper had been leaked? We want a CBI investigation into the situation and a retake of the exam because this is the first time the cutoff has been so high.” Following the IMA’s queries, the NTA appears to be in the dock once more, and concerns concerning its function are being voiced.
Ongoing Doubts Over NTA’s Role
There is ongoing doubt about the involvement of NTA, the organization that administers the NEET exam. In reality, a lot of issues have been raised about this entrance exam since the results were made public. In addition to the applicants who took the exam today, IMA also sent a letter to NTA and posed numerous pertinent queries to the testing organization.
IMA has clarified that “Candidates have scored 718 to 719 marks in the NEET exam, which is impossible according to the negative marking system. NTA claims that grace marks have been given to those candidates whose time was wasted during the exam. In such a situation, how was a new rule made suddenly after the exam?” IMA has also raised questions on giving full marks to 6-7 candidates coming from the same exam center for the first time in the history of NEET exam and has requested NTA to answer.
IMA’s Demands to NTA
Amidst all the questions arising after the release of NEET exam result 2024, IMA has made many important demands from NTA. Indian Medical Association (IMA) Junior Doctors Network has sent a letter to NTA saying that “The country knew that the NEET exam paper was leaked, then what action did NTA take on it? IMA demands that there should be a CBI inquiry into this entire matter and NEET exam should be conducted again. IMA has also made it clear that if the demands are not met, the Junior Doctors Network will go on strike across India.”
