NET 2024: According to Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), students with four-year undergraduate degrees can now directly apply for the NET and pursue a PhD. In order to pursue a PhD program, students must earn at least 75% of their four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent grades, with or without a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
Previous Eligibility Criteria
A master’s degree with at least 55% of the possible points was previously required in order to be eligible for the National Eligibility Test (NET). This year, the test will not be computer-based; rather, it will be administered offline. On June 16, tests will be given to every topic.
Application Period
The exam is planned to take place on June 16, 2024, and the National Testing Agency (NTA) posted the UGC NET application form and notification on April 20, 2024. The window for submitting an application for UGC NET will stay open from April 20 to May 10, 2024.
On the other hand, May 11 and 12, 2024, is the deadline for paying the application.Through registration on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in, applicants can submit their online applications for the UGC NET exam. As per the 2024 UGC NET notice, the NTA NET examination would be administered using offline mode.
Application Fees
To complete the UGC NET form 2024, aspirants must pay the application fees. For the UGC NET exam, application costs are as follows: INR 1150 for General Category, INR 600 for OBC, and INR 325 for SC/ST/PwD and above.
