More about Jamia Milia Islamia
Jamia Millia Islamia, a facility that had been founded in Aligarh in the United Provinces of India in 1920, became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. Its growth from a small college in pre-independence India to a national university with its main campus in New Delhi, offering integrated education from pre-kindergarten to research in specialized fields, is a tale of perseverance, conviction, and vision of a people who overcame all obstacles to see it develop gradually. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.
