NIRF Ranking 2024: For colleges and universities all around India, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has announced its rankings for 2024. The information was provided by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and comprehensive details can be found on the NIRF website, nirfindia.org. 13 fields are included in the NIRF rankings: colleges, universities, research facilities, and specialised sectors including management, engineering, and medical education. Notably, institutions that are private have also achieved top-10 rankings.
Private Universities in Top 10 List
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, a public institution, is ranked as the best university in India by NIRF. Conversely, among the top 10 private institutions are:
- Manipal Academy of Higher Education at 4th place.
- Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore at 7th place.
- VIT, Vellore at 10th place.

The following colleges have been ranked as the best in India:
- Hindu College, Delhi University – Best College in India
- Miranda House, Delhi
- St. Stephen’s College, Delhi
- Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Kolkata
- Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Delhi
- St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata
- PSG R Krishnaammal College for Women, Coimbatore
- Loyola College, Chennai
- Kiroori Mal College, Delhi
- Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi
Top 5 Medical Colleges in India
The leading medical colleges as per the NIRF rankings are:
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi
- Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh
- Christian Medical College, Vellore
- National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru
- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry
Every year, the NIRF releases rankings for various institutions, including universities, colleges, research institutions, and specialized fields in engineering, management, and medical education. This year’s rankings were announced by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on August 12. Several universities have maintained their top positions from the previous year.
