Patna News : In response to the anticipated heat wave and soaring temperatures predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Patna district, the District Magistrate, Shirsat Kapil Ashok, has issued a crucial order aimed at safeguarding the health and well-being of school children.

The order, effective from May 1st, 2024, until May 8th, 2024, prohibits academic activities for students up to Class X from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, and for students of Class XI and XII from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, in both private and government schools. This decision, made under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, comes as a precautionary measure to mitigate the risks posed by the prevailing heat wave.

The modification to the previous order, as per memo no. 4871 dated 25.04.2024, has been made to accommodate the new timings and ensure the safety of students during the scorching weather conditions.
The District Magistrate emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of children during such extreme weather events. This directive, issued on April 30th, 2024, under the signature and seal of the court, underscores the proactive measures taken by authorities to protect vulnerable populations from the adverse effects of the heat wave.
