Punjab Cabinet gives nod for creation of 320 additional posts of assistant professors

The Punjab Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, on Monday approved creation of 320 posts of assistant professors in 16 new government colleges of Punjab. The spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that these colleges were started in 2021-22.

The cabinet also approved creation of 16 posts of library restorers and 64 posts of lab attendants for these colleges. With this decision, deployment of necessary professors and other staff will be ensured in these newly opened colleges, which will ensure smooth functioning of the new colleges, which will benefit the students.

Age Limit 37 Years to 45 Years for Recruitment of 645 Assistant Professors in Colleges

The cabinet approved enhancement of age limit from 37 years to 45 years for direct recruitment of 645 assistant professors in government colleges. This will help in posting regular assistant professors in all government colleges of the state. Apart from this, those already working in non-regular category in different colleges, P.P.S. C. Will get a chance to apply for direct recruitment to the regular post of Assistant Professors. This will ensure students have access to quality higher education as well as provide a large pool of experienced applicants with satisfactory academic contribution for selection.
