Punjab News: Punjab Changes School Timings in Response to Cold Weather

This decision applies to all government, private, aided, and recognized schools within Punjab.

Punjab News: The Punjab government has revised the timings for both government and private schools in response to the colder weather. Starting November 1, school hours across the state have been adjusted, with classes now scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and conclude by 3 p.m. This decision applies to all government, private, aided, and recognized schools within Punjab.

Innocent Hearts Adopts New Schedule

In line with the government directive, Jalandhar’s Innocent Hearts School has confirmed that all five of its campuses—GMT, Loharan, Cantt Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road, and Kapurthala Road—will follow this new schedule. The schools will begin at 9 a.m. and dismiss at 2:30 p.m.

Three Time Changes Per School Session

In Punjab, school timings are adjusted three times during the academic session. From April to September, classes run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., while October’s schedule for primary schools is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and for middle and senior secondary schools from 8:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. From November through February, all primary schools now operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
