Punjab News: Starting from October 1 (Tuesday), the school timings for all government, private, and recognized schools in Punjab will change. As per the new schedule, primary schools will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 2:30 PM, while middle, high, and senior secondary schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 2:50 PM. The School Education Department has issued a circular to all District Education Officers informing them about the updated timings.
Timings Change Three Times in the Academic Year
The timing of schools in Punjab changes three times during the academic session. With over 19,000 schools across the state, these new timings will apply to all. From April 1 to September 30, schools typically operate from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. However, from October 1 to October 31, the new timings for primary schools will be 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and for middle to senior secondary schools, 8:30 AM to 2:50 PM.
Winter Timings from November to February
From November 1 to February 28, the schedule will change again. Primary schools will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while middle to senior secondary schools will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:20 PM. These changes are made to accommodate seasonal variations and ensure a suitable learning environment for students across Punjab.
