Rajasthan News : Bhajan Lal Sharma Government Takes Major Step to Revolutionize Rajasthan’s Education System

Rajasthan News: In a significant move aimed at revolutionizing Rajasthan’s education system, the Bhajan Lal Sharma government has approved a historic grant of ₹31,112 crore for higher and technical education. This initiative is designed to achieve the ambitious target of a 50% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER).

This decision marks the beginning of a golden era in Rajasthan’s education sector. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister, Prem Chand Bairwa, during a debate on grant requests for higher and technical education in the state assembly on Saturday. Bairwa highlighted that Rajasthan’s GER has surpassed the national average, reaching 28.6%, compared to the national GER of 28.4%.

Rajasthan’s New Initiative in Higher Education

Higher Education Minister Prem Chand Bairwa emphasized the introduction of new vocational courses in government colleges, improvements in infrastructure, and the upgrading of existing institutions as key strategies to develop high-quality human resources in the state. GER is defined as the percentage of the population aged 18-23 years enrolled in any higher education institution.

₹31,112 Crore Approved for Education

Following the debate, the house unanimously approved grant requests of ₹27,041 crore for the Higher Education Department and ₹4,071 crore for the Technical Education Department. Bairwa announced that vocational courses such as Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Computer Application (MCA) will be introduced in colleges at district and divisional headquarters.

This substantial investment is set to transform Rajasthan’s higher education landscape, providing better opportunities and resources for students across the state.
