Ranchi: Government Schools running under high risk due to lack of anti-lightning tools

Ranchi News: With the rainy season in the city, the Government schools of Ranchi are on the edge of a disaster as majority  of the schools lack operational Lightening conductors. They are a kind of device the shields you against the harmful effects of lightening. The state currently has 2100 Government Schools, which has Primary, Middle and Higher Secondary organization. The Lightening Equipment have been placed in the schools long ago in an order given by the Jharkhand High Court in the year 2007.

Most of the Schools lack Lightening Equipment

Many Anti-Lightning Tools are either Non-functional or others are faulted or many have been stolen. In the year 2016, according to an order issued by the State Disaster Management Authority , it was necessary for all the schools to have the Lightening Equipment. According to sources given by the State Education Department, most of the Ranchi Schools lack the necessary equipment.

Many lives at risk especially during Rains

However there have been cases of many deaths also being reported due to the lightening incident. Many deaths have been brought to notice from parts of Jharkhand. The incidents are more prone during the rainy season. The District Education Officer said that he’ll review the situation and take necessary steps.
